The TikTok Honeymoon Is Over (and That’s a Good Thing)
Just like Netflix gave way to dozens of streaming platforms, vertical video doesn’t just belong to TikTok now. It’s time to become a vertical video virtuoso with Dave Jorgenson and discover how you can use it to engage with myriad demographics across your social channels and platforms … even Reels.
In May 2019, Dave launched the @WashingtonPost TikTok channel. The channel found immediate success on TikTok and in the D.C. Twittersphere. He has since hired a team that he oversees while still creating content.
In 2023, Dave grew a new channel with an entirely different demographic on YouTube, now with 330K subscribers and growing. Videos focused on international news like Leaked documents: Egypt almost supplied rockets to Russia have gained over 25 million views.
Dave wrote ‘Make a TikTok Every Day’ and is currently writing another book on the future of TikTok and news.
For his work on TikTok, Dave made the Forbes 30 under 30 list in December 2020. From 2020 to 2024, he’s earned five Webby nominations and three wins, including ‘Best Creator.’ His first year on TikTok was awarded the North American Digital Awards for ‘Best Digital Project to Engage Young and/or Millennial Audiences.’
