Teach Me Something and Be Real with Me
If the TikTokification of social video has taught us anything, it’s that you don’t need a production company to connect, build trust and grow your business. Learn how to set aside perfection, be yourself in front of camera, create content that brings value to your audience and establish yourself as a trusted, knowledgeable guide.

In the mid-2000s, Scott McDonald sat in his high school classroom listening to a teacher lecture his class on how the careers that many of his cohort would end up in don’t exist yet. Scott rolled his eyes and went back to daydreaming about the radio presenter career that was just waking up before him, thankful he wasn’t waiting to work in some imaginary job of the future. 

Twenty years later, Scott has over a decade’s experience working in social media, a job that did not exist when he was in high school. 

Starting out his career at some of Australia’s largest commercial media companies as a radio announcer and producer, Scott’s passion for storytelling and building community quickly pivoted to curating and producing social media content. 

Developing social media strategy at different levels across a variety of organisations, including Southern Cross Austereo, Network 10 and Shine Lawyers, Scott has developed a fascination with building genuine connection with audiences that results in community growth, increased brand awareness and new customers. 

Currently working as a social media producer in the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s Brisbane team, Scott continues to experiment and grow several social media channels focusing on organic growth and adapting to audience trends and interest.
