Anatomy of an Idea
Having an idea for a brand story is one thing, but how do you turn it into a story people will love? What makes a great idea anyway? How do you shape that idea into a compelling story and pitch it? And how will virtual reality (VR) transform the way we create and consume stories? Pull up a seat, make yourself comfortable and get the inside story on creating stories worth telling.

With over 25 years in television, Nia has established a reputation for developing and producing memorable, editorially strong, stories that move people.

She has produced and directed across factual and entertainment for all Australian networks. From established formats to directing authored films, her experience is diverse. From Nine’s Getaway toTen’s Bondi Rescue and many others. In 2019 she united with Artemis Media to write and direct an intimate story about her family Storm in a Teacup for ABC which was shortlisted for a Walkley Award.

In 2021 Nia started in the role of Head of Development for Artemis Media. She created and co-executive produced a live TV event for SBS Australia’s Biggest Singalong! She had the honour of working with Michael Mosley, series producing his first big Australian series in 2021 for SBS Australia’s Health Revolution with Dr Michael Mosley. She developed two other series with Mosley for SBS and developed Maggie Beer’s Big Mission for ABC in 2023. Nia created a dog rescue format New Leash on Life, which she executive produced, broadcast on ABC in 2023 presented by comedian Joel Creasey.

She’s just taken on a new role as Head of Factual at White Spark Pictures – where the focus is on virtual reality films, offering up a whole new way of storytelling.
