How to Create True Alchemy Between Brands and Gaming
If the idea of a ‘gamer’ gives you the willies, let alone hitching your brand to a gaming activation, multi-Cannes-Lion-winning James Whatley will educate and empower you. Next time someone says to you, ‘We should do something in gaming,’ you’ll know what works, what doesn’t and why.
With 18 years of marcomms experience working on global brand campaigns for clients such as PlayStation, OREO, Xbox, Converse, and Honda F1 Racing – to name just a few – James Whatley is a multi-Cannes-Lions winning strategist who has spent his entire career working at the forefront of brand, digital, and integrated marketing.
James is also the co-creator of the DICE Charter initiative – a scored set of regulatory guidelines to ensure diversity and inclusion at conferences and events.
These days, you can find James working as a senior strategist for gaming at LEGO where he spends his days immersed in UGC LEGO Islands created in Fortnite.
In his spare time, James writes an infrequent internet-culture newsletter called Five things on Friday (at fivethingsonfriday.com), plays far too many video games, and spends his weekends making huge Minecraft worlds with his wife and two children.
