The people have spoken…
Picking the State of Social ‘21 best speaker is no easy task. To be honest, if we had to do it, it would be an almost-impossible one. That’s why we asked you to do it instead!
The results from our survey have just landed back at State of Social HQ, and we’re absolutely blown away by the overwhelmingly positive response to this year’s conference.
With such a varied base of speakers, covering so many different topics, we understand that it isn’t possible for every speaker to be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s OK! That’s what makes what we do so engaging and fun.
Without any further ado, let’s take a look at the speakers that you loved at State of Social ‘21.
Day One: Best Speaker
Day One of State of Social ‘21 was jam-packed with keynote presentations, breakout sessions, and more surprises than you can scan with a QR code reader.
Coming in third place is Suzie Shaw from We Are Social. In response to the question, what was the single most valuable thing you learned at the event?, one enthusiastic guest replied, “Pretty much everything from Suzie Shaw’s keynote”. If that isn’t a glowing endorsement, we don’t know what is!
In second place is Adrian Molina from Aviation Gin. Here’s what one guest had to say about Adrian’s keynote presentation, “Favourite keynote speaker! His showrunner reference was so relevant. Loved it!”
Finally, but certainly not least, your favourite speaker from Day One of State of Social is Zoe Scaman from Bodacious! Zoe blew guests away with her insightful keynote presentation about connecting with fans through games, new forms of media, interactive experiences, NFTs, and so much more.
Here are a few of our favourite comments about Zoe’s keynote:
“This was incredible! So informative and truly offered something new. I learnt so much and she spoke incredibly well considering it is such a complex world.”
“She was amazing!!! I was amazed by her knowledge and how she powered through the presentation – well done. Feel like she told us about a whole other world out there that I didn’t know about.”
Day Two: Best Speaker
Moving away from keynote presentations, Day Two focuses more on workshops and hands-on learning.
The third favourite speaker from Day Two is Andrés López-Varela from Storyation! If you wanted actionable takeaways from your State of Social speakers, Andrés offered that in spades, “So good. Andrés’ presentation style was fantastic and his insights into how to use content journeys is something I can immediately implement into my work.”
In second place is Carmen Braidwood! With more than two decades in commercial radio and television, Carmen’s workshop had guests hooked from beginning to end, “Carmen was really engaging and authentic. She made me understand the need to sell myself as the face of my campaign.”
Taking out your favourite speaker from Day Two is Mike Drysdale from Dear Storyteller. We can’t speak any higher of Mike, so here are a few things you had to say about him:
“This was my favourite session from the whole event! The interactive example and the team activity! It just made me have a broader idea of what my company could be doing! Plus it spoke to an element of marketing I’m incredibly passionate about!”
“I loved this! So engaging and fun showing a different perspective of branding and that things don’t always have to be so serious.”
Thank you
We’d just like to take a moment to thank all of our incredible speakers for making the time to take to the State of Social ‘21 stage, digitally or otherwise. We know just how busy you all are, and it’s no simple task to get up and share your knowledge with a room filled with more
