Think you know what to expect from State of Social ’26: Friction? Think again.

“You know, maybe I’ll give State of Social a miss this year. I mean, I’ve been before. And sure, it was a valuable learning experience, but how different can it really be this year?”

Oh, you poor, sweet, innocent child.

State of Social gets bigger and better every year.

SOS26 is our ninth State of Social, so we’ll be pouring everything we’ve learned about staging Australia’s smartest, spiciest digital and social marketing event into 25 & 26 August.

“As a fellow conference organiser, I have to say you’ve nailed it once again. Somehow this was even better than last year.”

This year’s lineup is world-class and exclusive to SOS26.

It always is. We don’t just invite the same old regulars from the Australian speaker circuit. Each year, we actively go out and entice our industry’s foremost movers and shaker-uppers from around the world – the people working at the bleeding edge of our friction-filled industry.

“I enjoy the mix of speakers: Perth based, national, international, and speakers on iconic brands.”

The conversations are different every year, too.

Not just the discussions on stage. The ones that happen over a barista-brewed coffee, or your gourmet buffet lunch, or at our sundowner drinks. With old colleagues, new contacts, potential business partners… Skip SOS26, and who knows what contacts and conversations you’ll miss.

“I was at last year’s State of Social and I met some really, really important connections.”

Our theme for SOS26 is what our community has been begging for.

Friction. We all have to deal with it. It’s everywhere, from our tight budgets and tighter schedules to strategic speed bumps and managing the comments. But unlike other conferences, we’re not just looking to passively mitigate friction. We’re providing ways to actively harness it.

“Fantastic presentation, real and actionable advice.”

Customise your program to suit your changing priorities.

We’ve evolved. So have you. The digital and social marketing landscape has undergone some tectonic shifts. All of which makes tailoring your SOS26 program to your new and emerging strategic, creative and technical challenges more valuable than ever.

“The range of speakers in the breakout sessions and deep dives offered so much choice that it was hard to pick one, but so great to be able to watch them later via the electronic link.”

Two days out to recharge your batteries.

Gourmet eats. Sundowner drinks. Bottomless Hunt and Brew coffee. Ideas and inspiration up the wazoo. Stepping away from the madness and into a room full of like-minded people for two days of learning and laughs is good for your mind, body and soul.

“I really enjoyed it. I think it’s a great kind of mix of socialising, meeting new people, having a day out of the office and enjoying the sun and some nice food but also learning a lot as well.”

So, what do you want to do on 25 & 26 August? Go into the office and through the motions? Or join your peers at Optus Stadium to take a time out and power up for an epic 2026-27?
