Helping the Dogs’ Refuge Home save furry lives.

The Dogs’ Refuge Home (DRH) in Perth’s Shenton Park is a not-for-profit that rescues, cares for, and rehomes hundreds of abandoned and surrendered dogs every year. And since 2020, the State of Social community has proudly partnered with the DRH team to support their pawsome work. Like the DRH team, we believe every dog deserves a loving home.

At State of Social, we don’t just talk about community – we fund it. That’s why we’ve created opportunities for our delegates to interact with the refuge in meaningful, impactful and (honestly) adorable ways, not least through our ever-pupular barkout sessions.

A pawtion of every State of Social ticket supports DRH.

Our support doesn’t start and end at the stadium gates. In addition to our barkout sessions, a portion of ticket sales from State of Social is also donated to the Dogs’ Refuge Home.

It’s our way of ensuring that while we’re busy helping you grow your skills and your brand, we’re also helping the DRH team provide the $2.5 million worth of care, vet bills, and kibble required to keep their residents happy and healthy every year.

Barkout Sessions: Cuddle. Donate. Make a difference.

Our barkout sessions – where delegates can take a break from networking with their peers to not-working with some of DRH’s cutest pups – are one of the most loved moments at State of Social.

It’s a chance to recharge and a reminder of why community matters – a playful pause in the program at Optus Stadium where delegates can enjoy a furry cuddle and donate. Whether it’s a gold-coin donation or a digital contribution, every dollar goes directly to DRH’s operational fund.

Wagging tails, nose boops and pup-arazzi photos are an integrrral part of the SOS experience.

International Pet Day: When every State of Social ticket goes even further.

For a limited time during April, to celebrate International Pet Day, we donate an extra $50 from every State of Social ticket sale directly to the Dogs’ Refuge Home.

These additional funds provide an extra boost in reliable, baseline support for the Home’s vital work, helping them deliver care and rehoming services for dogs that need a second chance – many of whom are older, neglected, or displaced.

Why the State of Social and Dogs’ Refuge Home partnership matters.

The Dogs’ Refuge Home is self-funded and relies on the generosity of donors and supporters to continue its rescue and rehoming work.

Our partnership with them isn’t just a one-off activation. It’s part of the culture at State of Social. We’re not just about upskilling and ideas – we’re about connection, community and giving back where we can. And seeing the joy that dogs and delegates bring to each other is proof that great things happen when community and compassion come together.
